New Work: Edge

Edge
11" x 14" acrylic on paper-available
Inspired by this piece by Milton Avery, I adapted the coloration and design. I pictured a pier of sorts sticking out into the water-just a very basic side view. I wanted to see if the structure could feel supported with the other shapes.

Hope everyone's Monday is off to a good start.

  1. Libby - I think your certainly pulled off the structure feeling supported with the other shapes. I enjoy seeing the circle in the sky - whether it represents sun or moon...love the fact that you use it in your work. Hope you are having a great day friend.

  2. I like your mixture of directionalities, Libby. You have strong verticals, horizontals and diagonals with the pier supports, horizon line and mountain and shore edges. Makes a compelling piece.
