New work: Hogan 2

Hogan 2-
Seems like that yellow is reading a little cooler, a little more green than in real life. Photography skills and patience are two things in short supply!

My goal with the above piece was to continue to explore the red-orange + blue/green combination, adding in the orange-yellow and violet blue pair as well. I also wanted to see if I could sort of make that blue-green both disappear and play a role. These pieces are always based on my landscape here in some way and always reference the coloration that I see everyday, again in some way.

I am glad to be moving on from this particular piece too. It's amazing how my non painting life affects my painting life!

Hope everyone is having a good week so far. Tahnks for reading and commenting.

  1. Libby - your color combinations are really coming out well. I love the blue that you are using with the orange/yellow. The sun echos the color that is next to the blue leading my eye upward. Very neat friend. Hope you are having a delightful week.

Thank you for taking the time to comment. I appreciate it! I reply back in an email if you are signed in and I can see your address. Otherwise I will post the reply here under your comment. I tend to cut and paste my emails too so that others can experience the back and forth which I think is integral to blogging.
